Jo, Auckland , NZ - Abdominoplasty - Bangkok Phuket Hospital - Dr Witoon
Whether it is a result of carrying multiple babies, having a caesarean, weight loss etc, many of us know what it is like to have a 'belly flap' - something that could usually be tucked in or hidden from the public by wearing long overtops. Put on any weight and it shows there first ! I lovingly called it my 'twin flap', but 21 years later it was time to do something about it ! Finally in October I saw a chance to slip over and have my surgery. One of my sisters, a nurse, decided she was coming over to make sure I was not dealing with any 'shonky surgeons'
We are informed that wherever performed, all surgeries carry risks. Not to do things by halves - I had to test the 'what if something goes wrong' scenario !!! I can confidently say that the Bangkok Phuket Hospital have the specialists and equipment to handle any such complications. Thai hospitality & care was so evident in all instances from the minute we were collected at the airport to when we were delivered back. The entire team nurses, admin staff, surgeons, physiotherapy and more genuinely cared about my welfare and recovery.
While I was there I took the opportunity to have appointments for possible other surgeries / treatments - a sports knee injury, my teeth & eyesight. I do not know when I will be able to afford to have each done, but now know what to plan for should I decide to go ahead with the procedures.
Now back in New Zealand, my family and friends are amazed at my 'flat stomach'. I enjoy shopping for clothes and no longer have to 'cover-up' with long tops or jackets. My biggest regret is that I did not do it sooner - but I felt it was selfish to spend that much on myself. Ask my children - they are delighted that I did, they love seeing my new-found confidence.
The pictures say it all:
